About collage.video
collage.video exists for one small but surprisingly awkward job: putting a few videos and photos into the same frame. Phones are full of short clips and pictures from the same afternoon, and most of the obvious ways to show them together either take photos only, need an account and an upload, or stamp a logo on the result. This site does it in a browser tab, on the device the pictures are already on.
What you can make
- Story, reel and TikTok collages at 9:16, feed collages at 4:5, 3:4 or square, and landscape collages for YouTube or a TV.
- Split screens, video grids, picture in picture, polaroid scrapbooks, film strips, magazine pages and labelled before-and-afters.
- Collages with your own song underneath, with the clips’ sound kept, lowered or muted.
- Titles and captions in five typefaces, a few emoji stickers, and cells that appear one by one.
- A JPG or PNG when the collage is all photos.
How it works
The page is a static web app. When you add files, your browser opens them directly: photos are decoded in memory, and videos play through the browser’s own video decoder. The preview is drawn on a canvas using the graphics hardware, with the same drawing code that makes the export, so what you see is what you get. When you export, a background worker decodes each clip frame by frame with the WebCodecs API and the open-source mediabunny library, draws the collage, and encodes an H.264 MP4 with the mixed sound. Browsers that can’t encode that way record the collage in real time instead.
Your project, including the files you added, is kept in this browser’s storage so a reload doesn’t lose it. It never leaves the device.
What we promise
- Your photos, videos and music are not uploaded. There is no server that could receive them.
- No watermark, no sign-up, no paid tier and no adverts.
- Visit statistics only, which you can switch off from Cookie settings in the footer. The privacy page lists every service involved.
Who it is for
People posting stories and reels who want more than one clip on screen; parents making a birthday collage from a year of photos; couples marking an anniversary; travellers squeezing a trip into fifteen seconds; small shops showing a product from four angles; and anyone who needs a quick split screen or before-and-after without installing an editor. If you are starting out, how to make a video collage walks through the choices, and the Instagram story collage and split screen pages open the editor ready for those jobs.
collage.video is an independent, self-funded project.
